Sensex down 40pts; SBI soars 4%

 TCS has dropped 2% to Rs 1,242. Cipla and HLL have shed 1.6% each to Rs 208 and Rs 192, respectively.

ONGC, BHEL, HDFC, Satyam, Infosys and Bajaj Auto are down over 1% each at Rs 810, Rs 2,436, Rs 1,588, Rs 451, Rs 1,981 and Rs 2,507, respectively.

Out of 2,580 stocks traded so far, 1,488 have declined, 987 have advanced and 105 are unchanged.
