The Sensex is now down 48 points to 10,434.Earlier in the day, the index had recovered 463 points from its intra-day low of 10,185 when it touched a high of 10,648.Grasim has surged over 5% to Rs 1,849. NTPC has gained 3% at Rs 115.Tata Power, ACC, Bharti Tele, Gujarart Ambuja, BHEL, Tata Steel and Wipro are up 1-2% each.Hero Honda has tumbled nearly 5% to Rs 775, and Bajaj Auto has slipped 4% to Rs 2,760.HLL has shed 3.5% to Rs 230. TCS, Cipla and Dr.Reddys' are down around 3% each at Rs 1,732, Rs 219 and Rs 1,400, respectively.Out of 2,221 stocks traded so far, 1,337 have declined, 839 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.Nicholas Piramal has zoomed nearly 10% to Rs 195. National Fertilisers, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Sterlite Optical, Sterlite, Hindustan Zinc, Zee, Punjab Tractors and Corporation Bank are the other major gainers.Nestle has plunged over 6% to Rs 1,060. Hinduja TMT, Adani Exports, RCF, Abbott India, Jindal Steel, United Phosphorous and GMDC are the other prominent losers.
