The Sensex is now down 70 points at 14,831.
Sterlite has slumped over 9% to Rs 522. ICICI Bank and Tata Steel have plunged 2% each to Rs 698 and Rs 553, respectively.
Tata Power and Reliance have shed 1.4% each to Rs 1,071 and Rs 2,113, respectively.
HDFC Bank and Maruti are down over 1% each at Rs 1,277 and Rs 699, respectively.
ACC and Jaiprakash Associates have gained over 1.5% each to Rs 606 and Rs 175, respectivel.
Infosys, DLF and Ranbaxy have advanced over 1% each to Rs 1,768, Rs 510 and Rs 462, respectively.
The market breadth is marginally negative - out of 2,383 stocks traded so far, 1,184 have declined, 1,091 have advanced and 108 are unchanged.
