The Sensex dropped to a low of 12,356 - down 189 points from the new all-time high 12,545 touched earlier in the day.The index is now down 71 points at 12,391.Hindalco has dropped 2% to Rs 224. Bharti Tele, Dr.Reddy's and ITC are down nearly 2% each at Rs 414, Rs 1,653 and Rs 204, respectively.BHEL has shed 1.4% at Rs 2,368. Tata Steel, HLL, Maruti and Tata Motors are down 1% each.Satyam has surged 2% to Rs 798. Bajaj Auto has rallied 1.5% to Rs 3,175, and Reliance Energy is up over 1% at Rs 631.The market breadth is negative. Out of 2,415 stocks traded so far, 1,300 have declined, 1,068 have advanced and 47 are unchanged.Bombay Burmah has hit the 20% upper limit at Rs 449. TajGVK Hotel, Cosmo Films, Mascon Global, SKF India, Surana Telecom, Elgi Equipment, Satnam Overseas, Punjab Alkalies Chemicals, Sun TV, India Cement and Century Textiles are the other major gainers.GMR Industries has plunged 9% to Rs 271. J L Morison, Malwa Cotton, Flex Engineering, Shivalik Global, FCS Software, Neyveli Lignite, United Phosphorous, BPCL, Union Bank, RCF, Bombay Dyeing, G E Shipping, Sterlite Optical, Aditya Birla Nuvo and VSNL are the other major losers.
