The Sensex is now down 780 points at 17,581.The NSE Nifty has dropped 261 points at 5122.SBI has tumbled 8.4% to Rs 2,204. HDFC Bank and DLF have slumped 6.6% each to Rs 1,495 and Rs 883, respectively.Bajaj Auto, ONGC and Mahindra & Mahindra have plunged 6.3% each to Rs 2,120, Rs 951 and Rs 632, respectively.Bharti Airtel has shed 6% at Rs 859, and Reliance Communications has dropped 5.7% to Rs 631.Reliance, Hindalco and Tata Steel have slipped around 5% each to Rs 2,475, Rs 165 and Rs 679, respectively.NTPC, TCS and Grasim have declined nearly 5% each to Rs 211, Rs 839 and Rs 2,888, respectively.Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, BHEL, ICICI Bank, Wipro, Ranbaxy and Tata Motors are the other major losers.
