The Sensex opened with a gain of five points over its yesterday's close at 6,684. Although the index inched up to touch an early high of 6,696, it soon eased on selling pressure in heavyweights and tech stocks to touch a low of 6,657.The Sensex is now down eight points at 6,671. The Nifty is down four points at 2,111.Reliance is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 539, and ITC is down Rs 7 at Rs 1306. HLL is up a rupee at Rs 145. Infosys has commenced weak at Rs 2,105 - down Rs 12. Wipro and Satyam have also resumed lower at Rs 752 and Rs 411, respectively.BHEL is down a per cent (Rs 7) at Rs 788.While HDFC Bank has added 1.38% (Rs 7) to Rs 526. Bajaj is up a per cent (Rs 9) at Rs 1,152.Bharti has advanced 1.78% (Rs 4) to Rs 232, and HPCL has gained nearly 2% (Rs 7) to Rs 415.Cement, pharma and auto counters also have registered losses in early trades.
