Sensex down around 100pts; M&M slips 5%

The Sensex slipped to a low of 9,987 and is now down 83 points at 10,017.

Tata Motors have rallied 4.7% to Rs 188. DLF and ONGC have surged over 3% each to Rs 318 and Rs 732, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications have gained 2% each at Rs 222 and Rs 220, respectively. Sterlite has added 1.3% to Rs 284.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has tumbled nearly 5% to Rs 306.

ICICI Bank and Maruti have plunged 3.3% each to Rs 456 and Rs 532, respectively.

HDFC has shed 2.8% at Rs 1,479. Reliance has slipped over 2% to Rs 1,319.

HDFC Bank and BHEL have dropped 1.5% each to Rs 1,034 and Rs 1,417, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and ACC are down over 1% each at Rs 262 and Rs 490, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,452 stocks traded so far, 1,373 have advanced, 987 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
