The Sensex opened 153 points lower at 9,434, and soon dipped to a low of 9,352. The index, however, soon rebounded into the positive zone and touched a high of 9,630 - up 278 points from the day's low. The Sensex has now slipped back into the negative zone and is now down 116 points at 9,471.
TCS has soared 6% to Rs 534, and Infosys has surged 4.7% to Rs 1,244.
ITC has rallied 3.3% to Rs 174, and HDFC has advanced over 3% to Rs 1,680.
Hindustan Unilever has gained nearly 3% at Rs 259. Grasim and Wipro have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 1,361 and Rs 248, respectively.
Satyam has recovered partially from its day's low of Rs 11.50, but is still down a whopping 49% at Rs 20.50 on hefty volumes of around four crore shares so far on the BSE.
Larsen & Toubro has tanked nearly 10% to Rs 700. DLF has slumped nearly 9% to Rs 214.

Tata Steel, Tata Power and Sterlite have plunged over 5% each to Rs 221, Rs 753 and Rs 286, respectively.
Reliance has slipped 4.7% to Rs 1,141, and Reliance Infrastructure has declined over 4% to Rs 536.
Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel have dropped 3.3% each to Rs 167 and Rs 628, respectively.
BHEL and Ranbaxy are down nearly 3% each to Rs 1,399 and Rs 229, respectively.
