Sensex down over 100pts; Wipro slips 2%

The Sensex today opened at 15,517, up 50 points.  The index then slipped and enterred the negative zone to touch a low of 15,329, down 239 points from the day's high.

The index is now at 15,337, down 129 points.

HDFC Bank, NTPC, Reliance Communications and Tata Steel have gained over 2% each at Rs 1,529, Rs 224, Rs 357 and 449, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and ITC have added over 1.7% each to Rs 851 and Rs 198, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Grasim and Larsen & Toubro are the other marginal gainers.

Wipro, ONGC and Infosys have slipped 2% each to Rs 423, Rs 1,139 and Rs 1,762, respectively.

ACC, SBI, Tata Power are down 1.5% each at Rs 879, Rs 1,725 and Rs 1,195, respectively.

DLF, BHEL, Hindalco and ICICI Bank are the other losers who have dropped 1% each.
