The Sensex is now down 322 points at 13,209.
ICICI Bank has tumbled over 7% to Rs 583. Satyam and Jaiprakash Associates have slumped 6.5% each to Rs 344 and Rs 138, respectively.
DLF has plunged over 6% to Rs 406. Ranbaxy has shed 5.5% at Rs 396, and Wipro has dropped 4.5% to Rs 384.
Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel have slipped nearly 4% each to Rs 481 and Rs 737, respectively.
Reliance Communications, Reliance Infrastructure, Sterlite and HDFC have declined over 4% each to Rs 357, Rs 812, Rs 450 and Rs 2,137, respectively.
TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra are down nearly 3% each at Rs 740 and Rs 522, respectively.
Tata Motors, however, has rebounded into the positive zone and is up over 1% at Rs 395.
The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,413 stocks traded so far, 2,016 have declined, 348 have advanced and 49 are unchanged.
