The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 30 points at 11,754. Buying in the early trades saw the index rally to a high of 11,794. However, the index could not hold gains for long and soon slipped into the negative zone.The index, thereafter, exhibited volatile movement swinging in and out of the positive zone owing to the derivatives expiry of the August series. A fresh round of selling towards the close saw the index slip to a low of 11,675 - down 119 points from the day's high.The index finally ended with a marginal loss of 25 points at 11,699.
