The Sensex ended 54 points higher at 8650. The Nifty closed with gains of 20 points at 2603.Auto stocks, Reliance, Reliance Energy, Ranbaxy, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and ONGC were the major gainers. HDFC, Infosys and Grasim ended with notable losses.
