Sensex ends down 121pts at 17,258

Selective profit-taking saw the index slip to a low of 17,244 - down 237 points from the day's high of 17,481. The Sensex finally ended (provisional) with a loss of 121 points at 17,258.

The NSE Nifty slipped 37 points to close (provisional) at 5,158.
