The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 66 points at 15,609, and soon touched a high of 15,661. Profit-taking at higher levels limited the upmove following which the index slipped into red in noon trades. The index, thereafter, exhibited lacklustre movement for most of the trading day. A fresh round of selling in late trades saw the index slip to a low of 15,487 - down 174 points from the day's high. The Sensex finally ended (provisional) with a loss of 41 points at 15,501.
