The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 111 points at 14,045, and soon spurted to a high of 14,067. The index, thereafter, pared gains and moved in a narrow band of 50-odd points (13,970-14,020).Selling gained momentum in the noon trades and the index slipped into the negative zone. The index dropped to a low of 13,861 - down 206 points from the day's high.The Sensex finally settled with a loss of 55 points at 13,879.
