The Sensex opened 21 points higher at 13,950, and exhibited firm trend through the day backed by steady buying in banking and select heavyweights.The buying intensified towards the end, and the index rallied to a high of 14,159. The Sensex finally ended with a smart gain of 198 points at 14,127.
