The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 30 points at 14,459. The index touched a high of 14,484, but soon slipped into negative zone on account of profit taking at higher levels. The index dropped to a low of 14,348 - down 136 points from the day's high.The index, thereafter, exhibited lacklustre movement for most part of the trading day. Agressive buying, mainly in Reliance, Reliance Communications and HDFC towards the end of the day saw the Sensex rebound and finally finish with a gain of 35 points at 14,454.The Nifty scaled to a new all-time intra-day high of 4282, and ended a fresh record level of 4278 - up 17 points.
