The Sensex opened 67 points lower at 18,593, and soon slipped to a low of 18,510. Fresh buying at lower levels helped the index rebound into the positive zone and touch a high of 18,730 - up 220 points from the day's low - in late morning deals.The Sensex, thereafter, exhibited range-bound movement for the rest of the day and finally settled (provisional) with a marginal gain of 36 points at 18,696.
