Sensex ends up 55pts

The Sensex finally ended (provisional) with a gain of 55 points at 18,013. The NSE Nifty was up 14 points at 5411.

The markets are all set to end on a lacklustre note. The Sensex is now down 20 points 17,937.

The NSE Nifty is down two points at 5395.

HDFC continues to trade firm, with a gain of 2.5% at Rs 2,896.

IDFC, HCL Technologies and ABB have rallied around 2% each to Rs 185, Rs 373 and Rs 838, respectively.

Gail India, Hindustan Unilever, Sterlite, ICICI Bank and Cairn India are the other major gainers.

Suzlon has shed 2.3% at Rs 58.50. SAIL has dropped 2% to Rs 209.

Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Idea and Sun Pharma are the other major losers.

Reliance Power, DLF, Jindal Steel and Tata Power are the other prominent losers.
