The Sensex has extended gains and rallied to a high of 11,236, after opening 90 points higher at 11,092. Positive cues from the Asian markets continue to support index up move.
The index is now up 228 points at 11,231.
HDFC, ICICI Bank and Wipro have rallied 4% each to Rs 1,736, Rs 456 and Rs 327, respectively.
Sun Pharma, Infosys and Reliance Infrastructure have gained 3.5% each to Rs 1,269, Rs 1,480 and Rs 684, respectively.
DLF and Reliance Communications have surged 3% each to Rs 232 and Rs 214, respectively.
SBI, ONGC, NTPC, Reliance, TCS, Sterlite, Jaiprakash Associates, Mahindra & Mahindra, BHEL and Tata Power have advanced 2% each.
However, Tata Motors has shed 2% at Rs 229. Maruti Suzuki and Larsen & Toubro have declined 1% each to Rs 790 and Rs 866, respectively.
