Unabated buying in select index heavyweights has lifted the Sensex back to higher levels. The index is now up 76 points at 10,878.Reliance, Tata Power, Tata Motors and Satyam have surged 3% each to Rs 765, Rs 580, Rs 921 and Rs 828, respectively.Tata Steel has rallied 2% to Rs 467.HDFC, HDFC Bank and TCS have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 1,340, Rs 768 and Rs 1,829, respectively.Ranbaxy is down 2% at Rs 405. ITC has shed 1.8% to Rs 173, and NTPC has slipped over 1% to Rs 136.The market breadth is negative. Out of 2,577 stocks traded so far, 1,439 have declined, 1,061 have advanced and 77 are unchanged.Southern Petro has zoomed over 14% to Rs 28.60. Aegis Logistic, Reliance Natural Resources, Sonata Software, Reliance Capital Ventures, Sesa Goa, NIIT, ABG Shipyard, Tube Investments, Kotak Bank, Hindustan Zinc, Essel Propack and Zee have posted sharp gains.KEC Infrastrcuture has slumped 7.5% to Rs 43.25. Jindal Polyfilm, Sakuma Exports, Ind-Swift, Venkys India, Apar Industries, VisualSoft, Gitanjali Gems, Bajaj Hindustan and Bombay Dyeing are the other prominent losers.
