Sensex extends losses, down 269pts

The Sensex extended losses and touched a low of 14,490, down 296 points. The index is now down 269 points at 14,516.

The market breadth continues to be negative. Out of 2,613 stocks traded, 1,810 have advanced while 730 have declined.

The Sensex has further slipped into red and touched a low of  14,592, down 192 points.

The index so far shows no signs of recovery and continues to be in the negative zone.

Tata Motors and DLF have plunged nearly 6% each at Rs 295 and Rs 318, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Communications have tumbled over 5% each at Rs 208 and Rs  291, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Sterlite and ICICI Bank have dropped over 4% each at Rs 1,214, Rs 619 and Rs 718, respectively.

Hinduatan Unilever and TCS have gained over 1% each at Rs 269 and Rs 390, respectively.
