The Sensex is up 219 points at 16,434. The Nifty is up 74 points at 4,883.
DLF has gained 4.5% at Rs 409. Jaiprakash Associates and Hero Honda have added 3% each to Rs 237 and Rs 1,605, respectively.
Sterlite and TCS have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 739 and Rs 573, respectively. HDFC and ITC have advanced 2% each to Rs 2,560 and Rs 1,996, respectively.
Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Infrastructure, ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications and Reliance are the other major gainers in the market today.
The market breadth continues to be positive. Out of 2,780 stocks traded 1,799 have advanced while 891 have declined.
