After a 220 points fall yesterday, the Sensex this morning opened strong following positive cues from the global markets.
The Sensex is now at 16,963, up 174 points.
The NSE Nifty is at 5,042, up 54 points.
DLF has advanced 2.5% to Rs 460. Sterlite, Hindalco, ICICI Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have added over 2% each to Rs 835, Rs 141 and Rs 243, respectively.
Maruti, Tata Steel, Wipro, ITC and Mahindra & Mahindra are up over 1.5% each.
The BSE Metal and the realty indices are leading the rally, up over 2% each at 15,689 and 4,622, respectively.
