After a spectacular 400 points rally on the Sensex on Wednesday, the index today opened 100 points higher at 14,352 owing to strong cues from the global markets. The index has however given up some of its gains and is now at 14,388, up 132 points.
Tata Steel has advanced over 3% to Rs 393. DLF, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors are up 2.8% each at Rs 331, Rs 716 and Rs 297, respectively.
Reliance Communications, Hindalco and Mahindra & Mahindra are up 2.5% each at Rs 268, Rs 81 and Rs 734, respectively.
Sterlite on the other hand has slipped 4.5% to Rs 600.
