The Sensex is now up 203 points at 10,161.
Tata Power, Jaiprakash Associates and Sterlite have zoomed around 7% each to Rs 827, Rs 93 and Rs 294, respectively.
ICICI Bank and ONGC have soared 4.5% each to Rs 492 and Rs 710, respectively.
Tata Steel and Reliance have gained 4.3% each at Rs 240 and Rs 1,339, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications have rallied around 4% each to Rs 656 and Rs 260, respectively.
HDFC has moved up 3.5% to Rs 1,599. Larsen & Toubro has added 3% to Rs 846.

Satyam has slumped 6.5% to Rs 166. Bharti Airtel has shed 3% at Rs 683.
NTPC and Hindustan Unilever have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 179 and Rs 242, respectively.
DLF has slipped 2% to Rs 294, and ITC has declined 1% to Rs 172.
The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,552 stocks traded so far, 1,613 have advanced, 865 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
