The Sensex after the initial uncertanity has firmed up and is now up 118 points at 8,865. Earlier in the day, the index opened 32 points higher at 8,779, and had touched a low of 8,727.
BHEL has surged 4.4% to Rs 1,325. DLF, SBI and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied around 3.5% each to Rs 199, Rs 1,136 and Rs 65, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro, Tata Power and Tata Motors have gained 3% each at Rs 711, Rs 667 and Rs 137, respectively.
ICICI Bank has moved 2.7% to Rs 344, and TCS has added 2.5% to Rs 548.
Hindalco has shed 2.3% at Rs 50, and Maruti has slipped 2% to Rs 475.
