The Sensex opened on a flat note tracking subdued global cues. The index touched a high of 16,329 and is now at 16,275, up 18 points. The NSE Nifty is at 4,863, up four points.
Among the Sensex-30 stocks Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 2% to Rs 972. Larsen & Toubro and HDFC added 1% each at Rs 1,520 and Rs 2,152, respectively.
DLF, Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Infrastructure and Hindalco are up 0.5% each.
Tata Motors and Hindustan Unilver on the other hand have slipped 1% each to Rs 679 and Rs 239, respectively.
BHEL, Tata Power, Grasim and SBI are down 0.5% each.
