The Sensex opened 138 points lower at 8,889, but soon rebounded and touched a high of 9,078. The index is now exhibiting lacklustre movement and is now down eight points at 9,019.
Reliance Infrastructure has slumped 4% to Rs 499, and Jaiprakash Assocaites has tumbled 3% to Rs 55.
Tata Motors has dropped nearly 3% to Rs 136, and Tata Steel has slipped over 2% to Rs 152.
Reliance Communications has shed 1.6% at Rs 196. Grasim has declined 1.3% to Rs 905.
Larsen & Toubro and SBI are down over 1% each to Rs 742 and Rs 1,092, respectively.
TCS has surged 2.4% to Rs 540, and Infosys have gained 2% at Rs 1,211.
Sterlite has moved up 1.7% to Rs 234. ONGC is up over 1% at Rs 708.
