 Ranbaxy, down 1% at Rs 356, was the sole loser among the index stocks.

VALUE & VOLUME TOPPERS

Reliance topped the value chart with a turnover of Rs 226.37 crore followed by HLL (Rs 144.79 crore), Tata Steel (Rs 133.88 crore), Reliance Capital (Rs 109.19 crore) and Reliance Communications (Rs 101.43 crore).

HLL led the volume chart with trades of around 65.90 lakh shares followed by SAIL (65.85 lakh), Reliance Communications (42.05 lakh), G V Films (35.55 lakh) and Essar Oil (30.78 lakh).
