The Sensex zoomed past the 7,900-mark at the opening bell, and moved up to an all-time high of 7,921 in morning deals.Profit-taking at higher levels saw the index shed gains by early noon, and dipped to a low of 7,792 before finally closing with a loss of 48 points at.7,811.While 21 index scrips declined, eight advanced and one was unchanged today. Declining shares clocked a volume of 87 lakh shares for Rs 555 crore, and advancing shares logged a volume of 37 lakh shares for Rs 119 crore.The mood was clearly bearish - out of 2,635 scrips traded, 1,608 declined, 985 advanced and 42 were unchanged today.All the sectoral indices declined except the BSE Bankex, which was marginally higher at 4,636 today.HLL declined over 2% (Rs 4) to Rs 169. ONGC slipped 1.6% (Rs 16) to Rs 988. ITC was down Rs 15 at Rs 1,694, and Reliance dropped Rs 6 to Rs 709.Infosys was down nearly a per cent (Rs 19) to Rs 2,297. Satyam slipped 1.5% (Rs 8) to Rs 513. TCS moved up over a per cent (Rs 15) to Rs 1,314, and Wipro added Rs 4 to Rs 729.Bajaj Auto declined over 2% (Rs 30) to Rs 1,422. Hero Honda, Tata Motors and Maruti also declined.ACC moved up nearly 2% (Rs 9) to Rs 468. Grasim was up Rs 7 at Rs 1,307, and Gujarat Ambuja was flat at Rs 65.Tata Power gained 1.4% (Rs 6) to Rs 431. HDFC Bank was up 1.2% (Rs 8) at Rs 664. ICICI Bank and NTPC also moved up today.India Cements advanced 8% to Rs 100. Indian Rayon added 5% to Rs 590. Hindustan Zinc dropped 6% to Rs 189.Reliance was the most active counter with a turnover of Rs 196 crore followed by VSNL (Rs 153 crore), Reliance Capital (Rs 105 crore), Vivimed Labs (Rs 81 crore) and IDFC (Rs 78 crore).
