The Sensex opened 25 points lower at 9,205. Nervousness in early trades saw the index slip to a low of 9,136. The index, thereafter, rebounded and rallied to a high of 9,341.
The Sensex, however, could not hold gains and has slipped back into red and is now down 24 points at 9,206.
ICICI Bank has soared 4.4% to Rs 380. Tata Motors and Reliance Communications have rallied 3.5% each to Rs 156 and Rs 204, respectively.
ACC has gained 2.3% at Rs 438. Tata Power and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced 2% each to Rs 697 and Rs 259, respectively.
Grasim has moved up 1.8% to Rs 945. HDFC Bank and SBI are up 1.5% each at Rs 927 and Rs 1,187, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates has plunged over 5% to Rs 67. Infosys has slumped 3.5% to Rs 1,153.

TCS has dropped 3.3% to Rs 532. Wipro and Satyam have slipped 2.5% each to Rs 227 and Rs 227, respectively.
Tata Steel has declined over 2% to Rs 184. BHEL and Hindustan Unilever are down around 1.5% each at Rs 1,335 and Rs 234, respectively.
