The Sensex continues to exhibit lacklustre movement and is now at 16,908, up 45 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,072, up six points.
Among the Sensex-30 pack, Mahindra & Mahindra and ONGC have gained 3% each at Rs 562 and Rs 1,164, respectively.
The other major gainers are SBI, Tata Power, BHEL and Maruti Suzuki, up 1% each on the BSE.
On the other hand Sterlite Industries and DLF have slipped 3% each to Rs 658 and Rs 272, respectively.
Hindalco, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Communications, down 1-2% each on the BSE.
The market breadth remains fairly positive, out of 2,863 shares traded, 1,516 have advanced and 1,258 have declined so far on the BSE.
Among the sectoral indices, PSU index has added 2% each and healthcare index is up 1%, respectively. While realty and IT indices are down 1.5% each.
Anant Raj Industries has slipped 8% to Rs 105 and DLF has shed 2%, respectively on the realty index.
