The Sensex is within striking distance of a new all-time high. The index touched a high of 9686 and is now up 133 points at 9,683.Dr.Reddy's has surged 3.7% to Rs 1,082.ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro are up 3.5% each at Rs 592 and Rs 2,009, respectively.Bajaj Auto has rallied 3% to Rs 2,135, and Tata Motors have moved up 2.7% to Rs 682.HDFC and HLL are up 2.5% each at Rs 1,263 and Rs 193, respectively.Hero Honda at Rs 857, BHEL at Rs 1,672 and ACC at Rs 560 are up 2% each.Cipla, Infosys, Ranbaxy, Reliance Energy, ONGC, ITC and Satyam have also posted solid gains.Maruti and SBI are the sole notable losers.Out of 2,489 stocks traded so far 1,209 have advanced, 1,215 have declined and the rest are unchanged.Reliance leads the value chart with a turnover of Rs 118.72 crore followed by ICICI Bank (Rs 99.99 crore), HDFC (Rs 64.89 crore), SBI (Rs 55.70 crore) and Bajaj Hindusthan (Rs 48.93 crore).LML leads the volume chart with trades of around 30.04 lakh shares followed by PBA Infrastructure (23.80 lakh), Mawana Sugars (21.95 lakh), Triveni Engineering (21.11 lakh) and Gayatri Sugar (20.92 lakh).
