The Sensex is racing towards the 18,000-mark and is now up 566 points at 17,894.NTPC has zoomed nearly 7% to Rs 220. Reliance Communications and Reliance have soared over 6% each to Rs 650 and Rs 2,429, respectively.Reliance Energy has surged 5.4% to Rs 1,422, ONGC has flared up 5% to Rs 1,048.Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have rallied 4% each to Rs 790 and Rs 804, respectively.Infosys has gained 3% at Rs 1,952.Out of 2,624 stocks traded so far, 1,690 have advanced, 879 have declined and 55 are unchanged.
