Markets opened in the green this morning on cues from the global peers.
The Sensex opened at 17,458 and touched a high of 17,556. The index fell again and is now up 70 points at 17,530.
The Nifty is up 21 points at 5,251.
The US markets ended in the green on Tuesday. The Dow ended at 11,117, stronger by 25 points or 0.2%, Nasdaq closed at 2,500, higher by 20 points or 0.8% and S&P shut shop at 1,207, up nine points or 0.8%.
Asian markets have also been trading firm this morning on the back of good numbers from companies like Elpida and Apple. The Nikkei has surged 1.5% to 11,068. The Hang Seng, however is marginally in red at 21,601.
The realty index continues to run from yesterday's RBI policy. The index is now up 1.2% at 3,610. Other rate sensitive indices - bankex and auto - are up 0.8% each at 10,768 and 7,651, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates has jumped 1.6% to Rs 149. Reliance Infrastructure and Hero Honda have gained 1% each to Rs 1,130 and Rs 1,870, respectively.
ICICI Bank, ACC and DLF have also added nearly 1% each.
However, Larsen & Toubro is down 0.6% at Rs 1,578.
