The Sensex has pared some of its gains and is now at 17,713, up 68 points. The NSE Nifty is 19 points higher at 5,300.

The Sensex continues to exhibit steady movement and is now near the 2-year high at 17,761, up 116 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,318, up 36 points.
Among the Sensex-30 stocks, Mahindra & Mahindra has added 4% to Rs 561. Hindalco, Sterlite and Sun Pharma have advanced 2-3% each to Rs 185, Rs 837 and Rs 1,803, respectively.
ACC, DLF, ITC, HDFC and BHEL have added over 1.5% each on the BSE.
Infosys on the other hand is down 2% at Rs 2,717 and TCS is down 1.5% at Rs 814, respectively.
The market breadth is negative, out of 2,878 shares traded, 1,549 have declined and 1,237 have advanced so far on the BSE.
Among the sectoral indices, IT index is down 2% at 5,426 while the auto and the banking stocks have added 1% each.
The BSE Midcap and the smallcap indices are up 0.3% each.
