The Sensex has pared gains owing to profit-taking in select old and new economy stocks. While tech pivotals are still witnessing weak trends, profit-taking has emerged in select heavyweights and banking stocks. The Sensex is now up 12 points at 6,582. The Nifty is up a point at 2,062.Reliance is unchanged with a per cent gain (Rs 3)at Rs 543. While ITC has shed 1.33% (Rs 17) to Rs 1,270, HLL is flat at Rs 140.Reliance Energy has gained 1.98% (Rs 11) to Rs 562. While Tata Power is up 1.28% (Rs 5) at Rs 406, BHEL is trading weaker at Rs 859 - down Rs 3.HDFC Bank has trimmed its gains to Rs 575 - up Rs 6. SBI has lost 1.15% (Rs 8) to Rs 677.L&T is trading higher at Rs 1,107 - up Rs 25 or 2.32%, while HPCL is up 1.82% (Rs 6) at Rs 350.Grasim is trading firm with a gain of 1.53% (Rs 20) at Rs 1,339. While ACC has gained 1.15% (Rs 4) to Rs 365, Gujarat Ambuja is up 1.19% (Rs 5) at Rs 439.ONGC is subdued with a loss of Rs 5 at Rs 838.Infosys has inched lower by Rs 10 to Rs 2,170. Satyam (down Rs 2 to Rs 398) and Wipro (down Rs 3 to Rs 671) are also trading at lower levels.Hindalco has shed a per cent (Rs 13) to Rs 1,382.
