The Sensex has pared some of its gains and is now up 44 points at 13,979. The index had touched a high of 14,067 in opening trades.Ranbaxy has surged over 2% to Rs 391. Reliance has gained 1.7% at Rs 1,609, and Maruti has advanced 1.4% to Rs 818.Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, BHEL and Bajaj Auto have advanced over 1% each to Rs 560, Rs 1,718, Rs 2,523 and Rs 2,595, respectively.Satyam has slipped 1.6% to Rs 463. Infosys, Cipla and ONGC are down 1% each.The market breadth is positive - out of 2,065 stocks traded so far, 1,330 have moved up, 677 have slipped and the rest are unchanged.
