Maruti has rallied 3.4% to Rs 911. Tata Motors has moved up over 1% to Rs 963.
HLL has surged 3% to Rs 285. ITC has gained 1.5% at Rs 204.
Cement stocks are witnessing considerable buying. Gujarat Ambuja has soared nearly 3% to Rs 121. Grasim has added 1.8% to Rs 2,395. ACC is up 0.8% at Rs 970.
Satyam has slumped nearly 6% to Rs 821.
Metal stocks are witnessing profit-taking. Hindalco has dropped 2.8% to Rs 210. Tata Steel is down 1.7% at Rs 633.
Reliance has shed 2% to Rs 975. NTPC has declined nearly 2% to Rs 137, and ONGC is down 1.5% at Rs 1,329.
The market breadth is slightly negative. Out of 2,335 stocks traded so far, 1,184 have declined, 1,081 have advanced and 70 are unchanged.
