Following positive global cues, the Sensex today has opened up 191 points at 13,780. In the process, it has recouped most of yesterday's losses.
The index is now up 332 points at 13,922.
Reliance Communications has surged 5% to Rs 306. Sterlite, ICICI Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied 4.5% each to Rs 564, Rs 696 and Rs 186, respectively.
Hindalco has gained 4% at Rs 83. Tata Steel, DLF, Reliance Infrastructure, SBI and Larsen & Toubro have advanced 3% each.
HDFC Bank, Ranbaxy, ONGC, Tata Motors, HDFC, Wipro, BHEL, TCS, Infosys and ACC are the other gainers.
However, Bharti Airtel has slipped a per cent to Rs 763.
