The Sensex opened 38 points lower at 17,427, and soon slipped deeper into red to a low of 17,079. The index has recovered partially and is now down 160 points at 17,305.The NSE Nifty is down 78 points at 5,042.Reliance Energy has plunged over 5% to Rs 1,858.Bajaj Auto and Grasim have dropped around 3% each to Rs 2,149 and Rs 2,723, respectively.Bharti Airtel has shed 2.5% at Rs 861. ONGC and Larsen & Toubro have slipped around 2% each to Rs 976 and Rs 3,460, respectively.Hindustan Unilever and Cipla have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 208 and Rs 192, respectively.Maruti and Reliance, have also, dropped 1.7% each to Rs 790 and Rs 2,380, respectively.HDFC, Wipro and HDFC Bank have declined 1.3% each to Rs 2,759, Rs 417 and Rs 1,429, respectively.Mahindra & Mahindra and DLF are down 1% each at Rs 638 and Rs 808, respectively.ICICI Bank has advanced 1.8% to Rs 1,086, and Ranbaxy has moved up over 1% to Rs 387.
