The Sensex has recovered partially from the early lows and is now down 215 points at 14,140.
The NSE Nifty is down 60 points at 4,273.
Reliance Communications has slumped 12% (Rs 60) to Rs 440.
DLF has plunged over 4% to Rs 488. HDFC Bank has dropped 3% to Rs 1,062.
SBI and Tata Power have shed 2.5% each at Rs 1,380 and Rs 1,131, respectively.
HDFC has slipped over 2% to Rs 2,229. Ranbaxy and Reliance Infrastructure have shed 1.8% each at Rs 490 and Rs 948, respectively.

Wipro, Tata Motors and ITC have declined 1.5% each to Rs 410, Rs 397 and Rs 185, respectively.
Sterlite and Bharti Airtel have also dropped 1.5% each to Rs 622 and Rs 788, respectively.
ICICI Bank, Satyam and Maruti have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 626, Rs 375 and Rs 567, respectively.
Reliance and Larsen & Toubro are down 1% each at Rs 2,182 and Rs 2,578, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates has surged 2.5% to Rs 161, and Tata Steel has gained 1.4% at Rs 664.
