The markets continue tt trade in the green in a narrow range of mere 50 points. The Sensex is up 128 points at the crucial 20,000 mark while the Nifty added 39 points at 6,012. The picture coninues to improve in the broader markets with the smallcap and the midcap index gaining 1% each. The benchmark index contiues to underperform at 0.6%
However, in the Asian markets are trading mixed. Hang Seng is down 0.07% and the Nikkei is trading lower by 0.1% while Seoul Composite, Taiwan Weighted are flat.
On the BSE sectoral indices, Oil & Gas up 1.3% leads the chart closely followed by FMCG, Health Care and Consumer Durables.
Market heavyweight RIL,Cipla,Hindustan Unilever up 2% each are the top gainers on the Sensex. SBI, Bharti Airtel,Reliance Communications, Hindalco, BHEL,TCS, DLF and Tata Steel gaining 15 each are the other significant gainers.
ACC, Infosys down 1% each continues to be the top losers on the sensex followed by Tata Power, HDFC, NTPC shedding 0.2%-0.7%
The market bredath continues to be very positive. 1794 stocks have advanced as compared to 884 declines.
