The Sensex after gyrating between zones has now started slipping and has reached a low of 11,986. The index is now at 11,972, down 145 points. Metal, Banking stocks and IT stocks are the major draggers.
Sterlite has dropped over 5% to Rs 489. Wipro has declined over4 % to Rs 364. HDFC and Hindalco have tumbled around 3% each to Rs 1,141 and Rs 68, respectively. Reliance Infrastructures and BHEL are down over 1.5% each at Rs 796 and Rs 1,677, respectively.
However, Jaiprakash Associates has soared 2% to Rs 141 and ONGC has added over 1.5% to Rs 904.
The market breadth is positive, out of 2,308 shares traded, 1,276 have advanced, 736 have declined and 96 are unchanged so far on the BSE.
