The Sensex is now down 200 points to 14,446.
ACC has slumped 5.5% to Rs 562, and Maruti has tumbled nearly 5% to Rs 610.
Satyam has plunged 3.8% to Rs 403. HDFC and Sterlite have shed 3.5% each at Rs 2,275 and Rs 590, respectively.
Reliance Communications has dropped 3.3% to Rs 399. BHEL has slipped over 2.5% to Rs 1,652.
Mahindra & Mahindra and Bharti Airtel have declined around 2% each to Rs 557 and Rs 791, respectively.
SBI and DLF are down 1.8% each at Rs 1,431 and Rs 492, respectively.
Out of 2,544 stocks traded so far, 1,652 have declined, 808 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
