Sensex slips further; realty index down 2%

The Sensex has slipped further intio the red and has touched a low of 16,931, down 150 points from the day's high. The index is now at 16,930, down 101 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 5,052, down 38 points.

The BSE realty index is down 2% at 3,937.

DLF has slipped around 3% to Rs 374. ONGC, ICICI Bank, SBI and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped 1.5% each.

The other major losers are Sun Pharma, Tata Motors, Tata Power, HDFC and Grasim, down over 1% each.

Hero Honda continues to be the top gainer, up 3% at Rs 1,689. TCS, Infosys and Wipro are up above 1.5% each at Rs 678, Rs 2,392 and Rs 645, respectively.

The market breadth has turned negative, out of 2,547 shares traded, 1,336 have declined and 1,140 have advanced so far on the BSE.
