The Sensex opened in the positive terrain tracking positive cues from the Asian markets. The index however failed to retain its firmness and slipped into the negative zone o touch a low of 16,767. The Sensex is now at 16,770, down 40 points.
The NSE Nifty is at 4,980, down 17 points.
Jaiprakash Associates has declined 3% to Rs 231. DLF is down 2.5% at Rs 443.
Reliance, Grasim Industries, Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel and Hero Honda are down over 1.5% each at Rs 2,009, Rs 2,111, Rs 226, Rs 326 and Rs 1,526, respectively.
ITC has added 2% to Rs 264. Tata Power and Maruti have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 1,482 and Rs 1,538, respectively.
