Sensex slumps 400pts; Sterlite down 5%

The Sensex is now at 10,998, down 400 points.

Reliance Infrastructure has plunged 7.5% to Rs 657. Reliance Communcations and DLF have declined 6.5% each to Rs 209 and Rs 228, respectively. HDFC has shed 5.5% to Rs 1,705.

Sterlite has decreased over 5% to Rs 393.

Tata Motors, Tata Steel and ICICI Bank have crashed over 4.5% to Rs 236, Rs 241 and Rs 447, respectively.

BHEL and Tata Power are down 3.5% each at Rs 1,610 and Rs 834, respectively.

ITC and Larsen & Toubro have slumped 3% each to Rs 187 and Rs 881, repsectively.

However,Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced over 2% to Rs 486 and Grasim is up 1% at Rs 1,814.

The market breadth so far still negative. Out of 2,486 shares traded, 1,811 have declined and 602 have advanced.
