The market sentiment remains firm in current trades as most of the counters continue to trade with impressive gains.The Sensex, which flared up in early trades, is holding on to its firm trend at 6,264 - up 107 points, off its mid-morning high of 6,270. The Nifty has advanced 31 points to 1,959.Reliance, with a volume of over 16.57 lakh, has logged 1.74% gains (Rs 9) toRs 527, while ONGC has jumped 1.68% (Rs 14) to Rs 846.Infosys has advanced 2.76% (Rs 53) to Rs 1,965. While Satyam is up 1.57% (Rs 6) at Rs 392, Wipro is up a notch at Rs 605.SBI, on a volume of over 12.35 lakh, has moved up 1.49% (Rs 9) to Rs 631. While HDFC Bank is trading with a steady gain of 1.14% (Rs 6) at Rs 531, ICICI Bank is up nearly 2% (Rs 7) at Rs 395.Tata Motors has shot up 3.68% (Rs 15) to Rs 425,with volumes of over 9.70 lakh. While Maruti has gained 1.46% (Rs 6) to Rs 422, Hero Honda is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 506. Bajaj, however, has lost a per cent (Rs 9) to Rs 1,069.Dr. Reddy's has gained 2.29% (Rs 16) to Rs 695, and Cipla is up 1.73% (Rs 4) at Rs 238. Ranbaxy is also trading in the green with a per cent gain (Rs 6) at Rs 945.Bharti is trading higher at Rs 210 - up Rs 7 or 3.22%. The counter has clocked a volume of over 6.60 lakh. Hindalco at Rs 1,252 (up Rs 21 or 1.67%), L&T at Rs 981 (up Rs 18 or 1.89%) and Tata Power at Rs 344 (up Rs 6 or 1.74%) are trading on a higher note.Capital goods stocks have firmed up on strong buying support. Esab has surged nearly 9% (Rs 16) to Rs 195. While BEML has shot up 6.20% (Rs 31) to Rs 536, HMT had notched up 4.90% gains (Rs 2) to Rs 38. Alstom Project is up 3.62% at Rs 207, and Honeywell Auto has added 2.94% (Rs 19) at Rs 660.
